Plants on Fire Bosses — Boss Fights & PvE Guide
Plants on Fire Boss Fights guide: how the PvE boss mode works, how boss decks differ from PvP lineups, and the Boss Mark event in Season of Madness.
Boss Fights are one of the confirmed Plants on Fire modes alongside PvP, Auto Chess and Co-op — and the launch season adds a dedicated boss event, Boss Mark. This hub covers how the PvE side of the game works and how boss lineups differ from ladder decks.
How do Boss Fights work in Plants on Fire?
Boss Fights pit your nine-plant deck against a powerful AI boss instead of another player. The mode is officially confirmed as part of the game’s mode roster; exact boss mechanics and rotation are being verified in-game and will be documented per boss as they are confirmed.
How are boss decks different from PvP decks?
PvP decks optimize for pressuring an enemy Captain inside three minutes. Boss decks solve a different problem:
- Sustained damage over burst — bosses have large health pools, so consistent merged damage cores outperform early-pressure picks.
- Survivability matters — holding your own board for the full fight is worth more than racing.
- Synergy ceiling — long fights give scaling synergies time to pay off, which changes which units are worth a slot.
See the best decks hub for the lineup framework, then bias toward scaling picks for bosses.
What is the Boss Mark event?
Boss Mark is a Season of Madness event confirmed on the official App Store listing. Its exact rules and rewards are being verified in-game — tracked on the Season of Madness hub.
What are Variants?
Season of Madness also introduces Variants, officially confirmed on the App Store listing. How Variants interact with boss encounters is being verified; details publish on the season page once confirmed.
